For the past 10 years, Annalisia Wagner has catered to her customers’ skin care needs all while pampering them during custom treatments at her spa in Cy-Fair.

“We love making women feel happy and beautiful,” Wagner said. “We’re a casually elegant day spa with five-star service.”

Wagner first became interested in the skin care industry when she was a young teenager dealing with problematic skin, she said.

“It made me shy and introverted, and once I fixed my skin the best way I could, I realized it changed me as a person,” Wagner said. “I felt I had a lot to offer the community with my own personal success and the way it made me feel as a much happier person.”

She opened Custom Facials by Anna in 2005 on Jones Road and has since grown her business to include a number of repeat clients and three employees.

“I know pretty much every client and situation, even if I’m not the person taking care of them,” Wagner said. “It’s definitely a family feel where clients can walk in and know everyone knows their name.”

The business offers a variety of services, such as custom facials and massages—two of the most popular choices—along with waxing, chemical peels, body wraps, spray tanning and eyelash extensions.

“A lot of people like to double up with the facial and massages,” said Ashlie Lesiuczok, esthetician and licensed massage therapist. “It’s very common to have someone here on average three or four hours depending on how custom they want to make their treatment.”

When new clients arrive, they fill out intake forms and provide information based on health and history to determine the appropriate treatment.

“We get them comfortable in a warm robe, and they head off to the ladies lounge to enjoy spa water, fruit, snacks and beverages,” Wagner said.

Wagner’s facials differ from other spas due to the custom nature of the service. For each treatment, she and her employees assess the situation to find each client’s problem or issue and resolve it with the proper skin care and maintenance.

“Everything we do to be corrective will also come with wonderful relaxation as well,” Wagner said. “If we’re taking care of acne or pigmentation or any type of old acne scarring, it comes with a shoulder, neck and arm massage with hot stones.”

Lesiuczok, who has spent a lot of time working at spas across Houston, said the first thing that stood out to her was the direct focus on each client.

“In a lot of day spas, it can get confusing for people who need a few things combined, which is something we do every time,” she said. “We want people to come in and relax and enjoy their time—the focus is on the pampering as well as the skin.”
