Each developer will construct model homes with backyard gardens to fit within Harvest Green’s new agriculture concept. The 1,300-acre community, located at the Grand Parkway and West Airport Boulevard, is slated to become the first master-planned community in the Greater Houston area to maintain an on-site farm and community gardens. Harvest Green General Manager Shay Shafie said the agriculture concept of the community attracted a number of luxury homebuilders, including D.R. Horton, Darling Homes, David Weekley Homes, Highland Homes, Lennar, MHI Homes, Meritage Homes, Newmark Homes, Perry Homes, Trendmaker Homes and Westin Homes. “The response from our homebuilder partners has been phenomenal,” Shafie said. “Each [homebuilder] jumped at the opportunity to be a part of this one-of-a-kind experience.” Home sales are expected to begin in late summer once home styles and prices are announced, according to Harvest Green officials. Model homes are on track to open this fall.
