The city of McKinney is inviting residents to celebrate Independence Day on the square.
Red, White and BOOM!, the city's annual Fourth of July celebration, will begin with a hometown parade and classic car, truck and cycle show in Downtown McKinney.
Evening festivities will take place at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch with music, food, childrens activities and a fireworks display. American Idol finalist and McKinney native Hollie Cavanagh will provide live entertainment. WRR will provide ‘Sounds of America’ on a live simulcast during the fireworks on Classical 101.1 FM.
Event schedule for Friday, July 4
Historic Downtown McKinney
- Hometown parade: 10 a.m.
- Classic car, truck & cycle show: 1–5 p.m.
McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch, 6375 Collin McKinney Pkwy.
- Family activities and food: 7–9:30 p.m.
- Hollie Cavanagh concert: 8–9:30 p.m.
- Fireworks: 9:45 p.m.
All Red, White and BOOM! activities are free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the professional fireworks display at Red, White and BOOM! as any other fireworks are not allowed within the city limits without a permit.
Pets are not allowed at the events at McKinney Soccer Complex.
