Motorcycle awareness

Commissioner Susan Fletcher read a proclamation during the May 11 Collin County Commissioners Court meeting proclaiming the month of may as motorcycle safety and awareness month in Collin County.

According to the proclamation, the number of motorcyclists in the county is increasing each year. Motorcyclists are roughly unprotected and experience more injury or death in a crash than any other vehicle. In an effort to reduce these statistics, several campaigns have urged motorcyclists and drivers to be aware of other drivers and regard motorcyclists with the same respects as other vehicles traveling the roadways.
