Local business Patika Wine and Coffee launched its “Jazz Wednesdays” series this week, featuring Austin jazz, blues and bebop artists, owner Andy Wigginton said.

The company debuted its brick-and-mortar location in September at 2159 S. Lamar Blvd. after starting out as a food trailer in Central Austin in 2010. The business has hosted small events since it opened on South Lamar, he said.

“Obviously Austin is an amazing live music city, but we felt like there was a real opportunity to bring classic and modern jazz outside of the downtown core and into a beautiful, cozy setting here,” Wigginton said in a news release.

Musicians will perform each Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. as part of the new series.

In addition to coffee, the shop offers craft beers, wine and gourmet small plates in the evening as well as a weeknight happy hour from 6-8 p.m. The May jazz lineup included Ann Wade Trio performing May 6 and will feature another show May 13 with Datri Bean Trio.
