1. Creek Bend Boulevard
The project will extend the existing four-lane divided roadway across Brushy Creek and Hairy Man Road to connect with Brightwater Boulevard at Wyoming Springs Drive. It will include raised medians, sidewalks and bicycle accommodations. Round Rock officials state the extension will provide a north/south connection over Brushy Creek and reduce reliance on I-35. Crews began work on the project in April.

2. Carl Stern Boulevard
The road project will extend Carl Stern Boulevard west of FM 685 and link it to SH 130. The road will be built by the developer of Carmel Creek, which is a mixed-use development through which the road will pass. Hutto will reimburse the developer for the cost of the road construction. The second phase of the project, which would include the connection to SH 130, is awaiting approval from the Texas Department of Transportation and should be underway by July, according to officials.

3. I-35 ramp reversals
This project switches the locations of four entrance and exit ramps on I-35 between Hwy. 79 and Old Settlers Boulevard in Round Rock to better accommodate the flow of traffic. Most recently the southernmost exit ramp to Hwy. 79 from southbound I-35 was closed.

4. Wells Branch Parkway
Travis County will widen the road east of Immanuel Road up to Killingsworth Lane in Austin just outside Pflugerville to a four-lane divided roadway. Work began on the project in April.

5. Limmer Loop reconstruction
The city of Hutto will participate with Williamson County in the maintenance and reconstruction of Limmer Loop. This project will update and repair portions of the road from CR 110 to Hwy. 79 that have fallen into disrepair. The county has also offered to bid and manage the projects for this 5-mile stretch of Limmer. The city of Hutto will be responsible for funding projects on the 2-mile portion of Limmer that has been annexed into the city limits. The project was awarded to Angel Brothers Management.

6. La Frontera Phase 2
Round Rock will improve the existing roadway conditions and road surfaces of portions of Parker Road, Kouri Avenue and Sundance Parkway in the La Frontera development. The city will reconstruct and rehabilitate the roads, which will include environmental investigations and geotechnical studies. City Council awarded the project to Cash Construction on April 9.

7. Downtown improvements
This project will widen Mays Street from the railroad bridge south of downtown to the Brushy Creek bridge in downtown Round Rock as well as realign Main Street where it intersects with Mays. The project will also focus on road improvements such as a new center left turn lane on Mays in downtown. After the project’s completion Main will run continuously through Mays. Round Rock Avenue is restricted to two lanes from just east of I-35 to Mays. Mays is restricted to two lanes from around Nash Street to the bridge over Brushy Creek, south of Hwy. 79.
