South Montgomery County is home to a wide array of youth sports leagues. Local leagues give kids the opportunity to learn skills in sports ranging from baseball to football to volleyball and a variety of sports in between. Most local leagues feature competitive tournaments and league games and focus on enhancing athletic skills through instruction in a fun atmosphere.

Oak Ridge Woodlands Area Little League ORWALL offers local players ranging in age from preschool through high school the opportunity to learn and play competitive baseball for one of the nation’s largest Little League organizations. ORWALL also offers a Challenger  League for young people with special needs who want to experience baseball. The league operates on a 16-acre park with 10 fields. Divisions are grouped by age range, and games are played Monday through Saturday starting at 5 p.m. during the week and 8 a.m. on Saturdays. There are spring and fall league seasons. SMGSL SMGSL is a fast-pitch softball organization that serves girls ages 5-18 in The Woodlands, Oak Ridge North and other communities in south Montgomery County. FFPS Woodlands League The youth soccer club focuses on the positive aspects of sports and provides an uplifting environment that promotes positive behavior and values its players. All players rotate to each position and the games are played with five players per side as opposed to the traditional 11, which allows players to get the ball more often. The Woodlands Soccer City The Woodlands Soccer City operates in an indoor soccer complex that accommodates two fields with turf grass. Its owners are in the process of building an outdoor turf field. The Woodlands Soccer City offers leagues, clinics, camps and tournaments for boys and girls ages 4-12 grouped into three age divisions for eight-week programs.
