Updated March 10: Firefighter Corey Bush has pulled out of the race.

Both races in the upcoming May 9 Hutto City Council elections are contested, with threecandidates filing for place 2 and two candidates filing for place 5.

The candidates for Place 2 are Corey Busch, a firefighter with Williamson County ESD #3, Thomas Hines Jr., alsoa firefighter with Williamson County ESD #3, and Paul Prince,aparamedic and the incumbent candidate.

The candidates for Place 5 are Melanie Rios, a pre-kindergarten aide and the incumbent, and Lucio Valdez Jr., a sergeant major in the military working out of Fort Hood.
