The Round Rock City Council unanimously approved Laurie Hadley as city manager Jan. 8. Hadley has served as interim city manager since October.

"I love this City and this organization and believe we have a truly outstanding City Council," Hadley said in a statement. "The elected leadership in Round Rock is second to none, and they set the tone for all we are able to accomplish here. I'm grateful for their confidence and trust in me, and look forward to serving our citizens in my new role."

Hadley was appointed interim city manager after former city manager Steve Norwood vacated the position. Norwood announced in July he would leave his post.

"Laurie is part of the team, first among equals," said Mayor Pro Tem George White.

Hadley had served as assistant city manager since May 2011. Prior to 2011 she was the city manager in Prescott, Arizona.
