About 200 veterans, residents and others gathered at the Pflugerville Fallen Warrior Memorial at Pfluger Park on Nov. 11 to celebrate Veterans Day.

The event included addresses by Pflugerville Mayor Jeff Coleman and Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, among others. Hendrickson High School's Marine Corps Junior ROTC Honor Guard and Drill Team marched with flags, and a group of four vintage planes made several passes over the gathering while flying in formation.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday honoring military veterans. It dates back to the end of World War I and was originally called Armistice Day.
