City Council unanimously approved a new logo and tagline for the city Sept. 22.
The logo is an updated version of its former sailboat logo and was designed to complement its new marketing tagline, The Lake Way.
Council members agreed that no funding will go toward implementing the logo until the Visitors Commission budget is complete and the distribution of council funds and commission funds is decided. The Visitors Commission is funded by the city's Hotel Occupancy Tax.
Last year Lakeway contracted with North Star Destination Strategies to conduct research and create the city's new branding campaign.
