1. Toll 183A frontage roads
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority began a routine maintenance project July 29 to remove and replace the top 2 inches of pavement on about 14 miles of northbound and southbound Toll 183A frontage roads. The Mobility Authority will keep the frontage roads open and will not close any lanes Mon.–Fri. during peak hours between 6–9 a.m. southbound and 3:30–7 p.m. northbound. Engineers plan to begin resurfacing access ramps near San Gabriel Parkway in Leander and will work their way south. Engineers will also repair the southbound frontage road near New Hope Drive, where water from a spring has been seeping under the roadway.

2. Toll 183A/US 183 intersection
The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority will improve the intersection of Toll 183A and US 183 in Leander by adding stoplights and rerouting the southbound access road that connects US 183 to CR 276.

3. Bagdad Road widening in Leander
Initial design is underway to rebuild the road from CR 280 in Leander to SH 29 in Liberty Hill. County engineers hope to widen Bagdad Road to five lanes within the city of Leander and to four lanes outside the city limits.

4. Crystal Falls Parkway/US 183
On July 19 the city of Leander reopened the intersection of Crystal Falls Parkway and US 183, which closed May 3. The intersection now has dedicated turn lanes on both roads. City engineer Wayne Watts said the reopening was delayed because a subcontractor was not able to install railroad crossing equipment at the intersection on schedule. A quiet zone for trains was temporarily rescinded until engineers added the railroad crossing gates' automatic detector.

5. North Lakeline Boulevard
This project's second phase will extend Lakeline Boulevard from Old Quarry Road to Old FM 2243 as a two-lane road with a median, curbs and gutters. In the future, engineers hope to widen Lakeline Boulevard in Leander to four lanes.

6. Whitestone Boulevard improvements
The Texas Department of Transportation will rebuild the intersection of Whitestone Boulevard and Parmer Lane/Ronald Reagan Boulevard into a partial continuous-flow intersection. TxDOT will also widen Whitestone Boulevard from four to six lanes between Market Street and CR 175 (Sam Bass Road); extend and add turn lanes to intersections at Toro Grande Drive, Raley Road and Sam Bass Road; and improve drainage, pavement, signs and stoplights on Whitestone.

7. Lakeline Boulevard/Bell Boulevard turn lanes
To improve traffic flow at the intersection, engineers are adding dual right-turn lanes from Lakeline Boulevard to southbound Bell Boulevard.

8. Bagdad Road in Cedar Park
The city is reconstructing a 1.4-mile section of Bagdad Road from Whitestone Boulevard to Kettering Drive. The project includes improvements to turn lanes and sidewalks. North of New Hope Drive, Bagdad Road is newly paved.

9. Cypress Creek Road/Bell Boulevard turn lane additions
To improve traffic efficiency, the city plans to add dual left-turn lanes to both sides of Cypress Creek Road at Bell Boulevard.

10. Cypress Creek Road/Lakeline Boulevard turn lanes
City engineers plan to extend four right-turn lanes at the intersection. The project will also involve relocating any affected sidewalks and streetlights. Cedar Park Engineering Director Darwin Marchell said work will likely overlap into the school year.

11. Little Elm Trail connections
MileStone Community Builders has finished its connection of Little Elm Trail to Bell Boulevard. Starting in 2015 the city of Cedar Park and Williamson County will pay for two more segments to finish the road. One section will link the Cypress Creek townhomes to the Red Oak neighborhood, and another will link the Cypress Creek neighborhood with South Lakeline Boulevard.
