Rhonda Mundhenk has been named the permanent replacement for Pete Perialas as CEO of Lone Star Circle of Care, the health care provider announced July 24.
Mundhenk has served as interim CEO since Perialas retired in May.
Obviously, Im honored and excited, Mundhenk told Community Impact Newspaper. Its certainly been a team effort to get to this point, and its a credit to the exceptional staff I work with. I look forward to continuing to serve patients.
In a news statement released July 24, Mundhenk said she is pleased with the progress LSCC has made in the past three months to get the organization moving forward in a sustainable direction.
In the role of CEO, I will continue to work with the staff and the board of directors to ensure a focus on the provision of high-quality health care for the underserved in Central Texas, she said.
The same statement quoted board Chairman Jack Hunnicutt as saying Mundhenk has shown incredible commitment and leadership during a difficult time of transition for LSCC.
She and the staff have done an excellent job in restructuring the organization and taking the steps necessary to overcome challenges and continue providing care for patients. I have the utmost confidence that she will continue to shine as the CEO as we move forward on a sustainable path.
Mundhenk previously served as chief operating officerand later chief executive officerof clinical systems for LSCC.
