Fort Bend County Construction began June 16 on a new pedestrian plaza within the Historic Courthouse Complex at 301 Jackson St., Richmond. The project is expected to affect traffic flow in the area, said Beth Wolf, executive assistant and communications specialist with Fort Bend County.
"Liberty Street will be closed to through traffic and parking," she said. "Fourth Street between Jackson and Liberty Street is permanently closed and will become an integral part of the plaza."
Visitors to the Historic Courthouse can park in the William B. Travis Building parking lot located along Houston Street between Third and Fourth streets.
