Darren Allman, Eanes ISD athletic director and Westlake High School head football coach, is expected to resign his positions to become the head football coach of Grapevine-Colleyville's Heritage High School, EISD Superintendent Nola Wellman announced April 25.

Allman spent five years in the district and led the Chaparrals to the state title game in 2009 and state semifinals in 2012. He was named District Coach of the Year from 2007–09 and 2012. Allman finished his career at Westlake High School with a 45-21 record.

"Darren's positive impact on our student-athletes and our community has been tremendous," Wellman said in a news release. "Under his leadership, the proud Westlake football tradition has taken great strides and we are confident that legacy will continue as we move forward."

The district announced it will begin searching for a new head football coach immediately.
