Philip Jalufka, president of real estate consulting firm Legacy International, presented a $1,000 donation Feb. 21 to the Hill Country Education Foundation to support Leander ISD's OverDrive, a virtual library that includes audiobooks and eBooks.
OverDrive was adopted by LISD for its 2012–13 school year and provides 40,000 free downloadable titles to students' mobile devices or computers, according to an HCEF news release.
"LISD's digital online library gives us an opportunity to make a direct benefit to our students as they take advantage of today's technology while at the same time focusing on the fundamentals like reading," Jalufka said in the release.
Legacy International focuses on master planned communities including Lakeway's Tuscan Village and Rough Hollow.
"We continue to chart increases in eBook usage by our students and staff and this donation will allow us to purchase additional content to meet the growing demand of our patrons," District Library Coordinator Becky Calzada said.
