About 100 students from Trinity Episcopal School, 3901 Bee Caves Road, West Lake Hills, participated in the March 1 Private School Interscholastic Association District 8AA academic competition hosted by Regents School of Austin.

Thirteen students from Trinity's lower and middle schools qualified for the PSIA state meet that will be held April 26 at Texas Christian University. Liam Archacki, Clea Bell, Amanda Bratton, Ariaan Ghatate, Max Gordon, Rebecca Hochman, J.D. Jordan and Maddie Silverman qualified with Amelia Bast, Devon Bell, Priya Julian, Margarita Matta and Joaquin White qualifying as state alternates.

Each school is limited to three students per competition for each grade, said Patrick Green, Trinity's PSIA middle school coordinator. There are 59 academic contests offered for students in first through eighth grade, he said.

"Hundreds of private or independent schools from across Texas participate in the PSIA competitions," Green said.
