On Feb. 28, Councilwoman Zelda Auslander withdrew her candidacy from the May election for Bee Cave City Council.
Auslander has been a member of the council since 2012. She served on the council previously from 2001–08 and was mayor pro tem from 2002–08.
In a statement, Auslander said changes in her personal life are providing new opportunities and the likelihood of relocating to South Florida.
"My role was always very consistent: to effect as much as feasibly possible how our community looks and feels, to offer a superb quality and variety of amenities and synergistic product mix while maintaining fiscal responsibility," she said. "I feel very proud and consider my role and relationships here one of my life's most fulfilling and rewarding accomplishments."
