After Juan Carlos Lozano opened Tacoland Mex-Mex in May 2013, his restaurant saw immediate acceptance from people who live and work in the area. Police officers, firefighters and teachers from Cy-Fair High School have all become regular customers.
Tacoland has impressed customers with its dedication to making things fresh and its offering of 16 different meats, including many authentic Mexican choices, Lozano said.
"A lot of places will let you choose chicken or beef," he said. "We have pastor, chicharron and lean barbacoa from both the tongue and cheek."
Lozano said his acceptance into the community makes him more confident in his restaurant concept, and he hopes to open more locations around Houston in the future.
