The Tomball Bowling Center re-opened in October, offering local residents a newly refurbished entertainment venue.
New owners Scott and Janet Holmes purchased the bowling alley in August and started renovations immediately. All the lanes were replaced and a new roof was added. In addition, the bar and snack bar areas were renovated, adding new counters and flooring. The snack bar now serves hand-dipped Blue Bell ice cream.
The family-oriented bowling alley is nonsmoking, except for the bar area.
"We're getting a lot of compliments about the renovations," Janet said. "People are starting to bring their kids back."
One of the most popular attractions the bowling alley offers is Rock-N-Bowl on Friday and Saturday nights when the lights are turned down and the music is turned up, Janet said.
The Tomball Bowling Center also offers reduced-price bowling on Tuesdays. In addition, the bowling alley offers birthday party packages.
"We have been booking birthday parties like crazy," Janet said. "We stay pretty busy. Business has been good."
