Beginning Dec. 3, fans of California-based In-N-Out Burger will have a nearby location to satisfy their cravings for Double-Double, 3x3 or Animal Style hamburgers.

According to company officials, the first In-N-Out Burger location in Central Texas will open for business Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m. in Round Rock.

"We are very enthusiastic about the opportunities in Central Texas and we're thrilled to be opening in Round Rock [Dec. 3]," said Carl Van Fleet, In-N-Out Burger vice president of Planning and Development.

In-N-Out Burger began planning for the Round Rock location in spring 2012. In the months since, the company has also begun construction on two additional locations in Cedar Park and Austin.

"Central Texas is filled with many vibrant, growing communities and we look forward to becoming a part of many of them," Van Fleet said. "We hope to open [in] Austin soon and will probably open Cedar Park shortly after the first of the year."

Started in 1948, the In-N-Out Burger chain of quick-serve restaurants are still owned and maintained by the founding Snyder family. The company has locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Texas. According to a company news release, the Round Rock restaurant will employ approximately 50 workers with a starting salary of $10.50 per hour.

The new restaurant is located at 4251 N. I-35, adjacent to BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse. Other recent developments in the immediate area include a now open H-E-B grocery store and a La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery as well as a planned Bass Pro Shops location.

The site received special zoning from Round Rock City Council in August 2012 to include a drive-thru window. The new building offers seating for 77 guests.
