Longtime Magnolia council member and Mayor Pro Tem Patsy Williams died at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.

"I think Patsy is well known around Magnolia for giving so many years of dedication to the city," said Tana Ross, Magnolia economic development coordinator and friend of Williams. "Patsy was a friend to absolutely everyone. I hope people will remember her for her contagious laughter, her joy of life and her strong faith."

Williams was elected to office in May 1992 and served on the city council since that time. She served as mayor pro tem from 1994-1995, and then served in that same capacity since 2001. Williams was a resident of Magnolia since 1955. She and her husband Jonny have one son, Todd, and four grandchildren.

"Her experience is going to be hard not having around," Magnolia Mayor Todd Kana said. "She has always been deeply involved and it's going to be hard without her. Her wisdom, knowledge and experience will be greatly missed."

There will be a tribute for Williams at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Unity Park in the Williams Pavilion.
