As work continues on Segment E of the Grand Parkway in Cypress, the Texas Department of Transportation has two major closures scheduled for portions of Hwy. 290 from Sept. 27–30.
The eastbound and westbound lanes of Hwy. 290 at Bauer Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Sept. 27 until 5 a.m. Sept. 30 so construction crews can hang beams for the direct connectors from Hwy. 290 to the Grand Parkway Segment E. Drivers will be required to exit Hwy. 290 at Bauer, continue through the intersection and re-enter the highway, according to TxDOT. The same closure will occur the following weekend from Oct. 4–7.
Additionally, from 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Sept. 27–28, the Hwy. 290 eastbound lanes will be closed at W. Little York Road as construction continues on Project G of the Hwy. 290 expansion project. Drivers will exit the highway at W. Little York, continue through the intersection on the frontage road and re-enter the freeway, according to TxDOT. On Sept. 27, from 10 a.m.–8 p.m. the westbound lanes of Hwy. 290 will be reduced to one lane from Gessner to Beltway 8.
The Beltway 8 north-and southbound connector ramp to Hwy. 290 eastbound will also be closed from 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Sept. 27–28. According to TxDOT, drivers northbound can exit the beltway at W. Little York, turn right at W. Little York and continue to Hwy. 290. Southbound drivers can detour to Hwy. 290 westbound, exit Jones Road and U-turn to the eastbound frontage road.
