Horns will blow and cymbals will crash in Cedar Park's Twin Creeks and Anderson Mill neighborhoods Aug. 17 for the annual Cedar Park High School marching band's March-a-Thon.
From 9 a.m.–noon, the reigning University Interscholastic League Class 4A marching band will play through the neighborhood streets, stopping to play small concerts sponsored by band supporters and community members. Listening is free, and concert sponsorships along the route start at $100. Proceeds benefit the band booster organization.
At noon, the band will assemble and play a concert at the Cedar Park High School courtyard, 2150 Cypress Creek Road. A carnival, auction and barbecue lunch served by Smokey Mo's Bar-B-Q starts at 11 a.m. Tickets for the meal, which includes two meats, sides and iced tea, are $10 and can be purchased from a band student or the March-a-Thon committee.
