The Pflugerville Economic Development Corp. has secured another tenant for the 130 Commerce Center in East Pflugerville.
The PCDC announced July 25 that D-BAT Baseball & Softball Academy was planning to open its second Texas facility this fall in Pflugerville. The facility will occupy approximately 18,000 to 24,000 square feet at the Pecan 130 Business Park within 130 Commerce Center. Customers can anticipate an indoor, air-conditioned facility complete with synthetic turf, big screen TVs, nets and high end pitching machines.
"We hope to be open no later than November 1 right now we're in the design stage," Owner Jim Foster said.
Foster opened his first D-BAT franchise in 2009 in Frisco, Texas. After finding success with the first location, Foster chose Pflugerville as the sight for the second facility. His son, James Foster will be the general manager for the new D-BAT location.
For the residents of Pflugerville, the arrival of D-BAT Baseball & Softball Academy promises new training opportunities, equipment, and jobs.
Part of the facility will be a pro- shop where players can browse a wide selection of bats, gloves, apparel and equipment. In addition to bats made by every major company, the pro-shop will also offer the full D-BAT line. Bats produced by D-BAT are made using wood from ash, birch or maple trees.
"We offer full time baseball and softball instruction in hitting, pitching, and fielding," Foster said. The facility will also offer camps, clinics and even birthday parties.
According to the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation, D-BAT plans to add additional locations in the region.
"We're looking forward to joining the community. We're a very customer service oriented business," Foster said.
