The City of Round Rock has worked out an incentive agreement to become the new home of ClearCorrect, a Houston-based manufacturer of removable dental braces.

Anthony Penketh, chief marketing officer for ClearCorrect, said the company hopes to have completed its relocation to Round Rock by August. ClearCorrect is planning to occupy 23,000 square feet of light industrial and office space in the Chandler Creek Business Park at 21 Cypress Blvd., Ste. 1010, in Round Rock. Penketh said the company plans to employ more than 100 employees at the facility.

"We've been intending on moving to [the Austin area] for quite some time but never knew exactly where," Penketh said. "After looking at many facilities in Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park we decided to move forward with a facility in Round Rock.

"We wanted to be located in an area with good schools, a safe and friendly environment, and one which had nice restaurants and shops close by—and this is what we've found in Round Rock."

Founded in 2006 by Willis Pumphrey, a Houston-based dentist, ClearCorrect distributes its products to dentists and orthodontists throughout the United States. In 2011, the company was named the fastest-growing health company in the U.S. by Inc. Magazine.

"We are excited that ClearCorrect has chosen Round Rock as their new home," said Ben White, vice president of economic development for the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce/Economic Development Partnership. "As a fast-growing, medical device manufacturer, ClearCorrect fits perfectly within Round Rock's target sector of healthcare and biotechnology."

According to an incentive package set to be approved by the City Council on June 13, the city will waive all permit fees, expedite the permit approval process, provide $120,000 in cash upon occupancy and provide a $1,000 per employee payment of up $30,000 to ClearCorrect.

In exchange for the incentives, ClearCorrect has agreed to provide at least $1.5 million in facility improvements to their Round Rock location and employ at least 100 full-time equivalent employees at the location.
