Leander ISD announced plans May 24 to offer free meals to children in Cedar Park and Leander weekdays this summer. The program, co-sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture, is open to any child through age 18 with no requirements for acceptance, said Jennifer Bailey, LISD communication specialist.
From June 10–Aug. 9, free lunches are offered noon–1p.m., and breakfast is served 9 a.m.–10 a.m. at various locations in Cedar Park and Leander. Children do not have to live at the apartment complex or attend the school or church in order to receive a free lunch.
