Leander Public Library on May 11 will host "Meet the Authors," an event highlighting the work of published and aspiring local authors. The event takes place in Conference Room C at the Leander Public Library from 2 to 4 p.m.

Guests can learn and ask questions about the writing process, discover new books and get them signed.

The writers, made up of Leander Writers' Guild members, will collectively discuss their work in a variety of genres, including science fiction, Christian fiction, mysteries and young adult novels as well as poetry. Featured writers at the event include Elizabeth Truiett, Nancy Jill Thames, Ken Connally, Bonnie Moran and Iris Lucero.

The Leander Writers Guild meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month to discuss the creative process during writing, share tips and connect with fellow writers, local authors and guest speakers.
