City of Round Rock hires new planning director

The City of Round Rock announced Feb. 14 the hiring of Brad Wiseman as the city’s new planning director. Wiseman takes over the position from Peter Wysocki, who resigned in December to take a position with the City of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Wiseman had been serving as the city’s interim planning director since December. Wiseman was Round Rock’s development services director from 2010–12 and served as a principal planner for the city from 2007–10. Prior to working in Round Rock, Wiseman worked as a planning manager for the the City of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Wiseman earned a bachelor’s degree in urban regional planning from Florida Atlantic University.

“I am just excited to be working in Round Rock,” Wiseman said. “We have a great City Council, a great city manager and everyone works well together. There is a real get-it-done attitude.”

As planning director, Wiseman will manage the city’s planning, code enforcement and building regulation divisions.

“Brad has been a huge contributor towards the development success of Round Rock,” Round Rock City Manager Steve Norwood said. “His knowledge of the city, dedication and loyalty to Round Rock will serve this community well for years to come.”
