Volunteers helped cut flammable shrubs, trim branches and remove dead wood at Sailfish Park in Lakeway on Jan. 26. The Lakeway Wildfire Steering Committee organized the event to help keep Lakeway homes safe from wildfires.
- Volunteers worked from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to clear brush, gather dead wood and cut away low-hanging branches from trees and shrubs. Lunch was provided for volunteers.
- Crews worked during the morning hours at Sailfish Park to remove more than 100 cubic yards of brush along with a few cords of large-diameter logs.
