National homebuilder KB Home announced Jan. 30 plans to open a new community in Hutto. Two model homes will be available for potential homebuyers to tour by the end of spring.
HuttoParke's 105 homes will be up to 3,125 square feet in size, one or two stories and designed to fit a homebuyer's needs, including the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The complex is set to be built on FM 1660 with access to toll roads 45 and 130.
KB Home's built-to-order approach allows buyers to choose their home sites and floor plans, as well as details such as faucets and fixtures. All homes will be Energy Star certified to ease utility bills, and residents will have access to a private recreation center that will include a pool and picnic area. Base prices for homes will run from $150,000 to $180,000.
"We build it the way they dream it," KB Home spokeswoman Cathy Teague said. "That way no one has to settle for someone else's idea of how a home should look. We believe that choice helps families meet their own individual needs and tastes."
KB Home said it chose Hutto for its new community based on the area's population and economic growth.
"Hutto is a growing Central Texas community with a lot going for it," Teague said. "It has great access to major interstates and the toll road, making it easy for families to get to and from work every day. Families value a small town for its easy lifestyle, convenience to shopping and schools, yet you can still make the most of what a city such as Austin has to offer, too."
