Boutique animal store focuses on Anderson Lane shop
The Lofty Dog, a pet boutique store, found a new home this past year at 2700 W. Anderson Lane, Ste. 402, and closed its original store at 403 W. Second St.
"The newest thing for 2013 is we closed our store downtown," co-owner Jon Michelson said. "Our lease was up, and we decided not to extend it. We are focused on our new location here in The Village [shopping center] on Anderson Lane."
The new location opened in March and offers products for dogs and cats, including toys, food, treats, collars and leashes.
For 2013, the business is going to focus on keeping customers who were shopping with them at the previous location and look to expand the business, Michelson said.
"[We're going to] continue to grow," he said. "We're going to have a birthday party in March. We work with two or three rescue groups to do adoption days on the weekends, and [doing the adoption days] every other weekend is something we're shooting for as a goal for 2013."
