Northfork Shopping Center is rebranding in 2013 in hopes new shops follow.

Commercial real estate group Sandalwood announced in November a $2 million renovation plan that includes changing the shopping center's name to The Hub at Research and 45, located at the intersection of US 183 and Toll 45.

The changes, slated to be complete in March, call on raised signage to increase visibility from the highways as well as transformed retail spaces throughout the 165,000-square-foot complex. Existing tenant Chair King will relocate to a new 30,000-square-foot anchor space. The renovations will create two 25,000-square-foot junior anchor sites within the 30-year-old shopping center. No tenants have inked deals for either spot, according to a Sandalwood spokeswoman.
