Tarrant County enacted an outdoor burning ban this week, and five boat ramps at Grapevine Lake were closed because of low water levels.
The Commissioners Court approved the 90-day burn ban at its Dec. 4 meeting, because of "dry grass conditions and gusty winds that occur during the winter season," according to the county website.
Violating the ban is a misdemeanor and carries a fine up to $500.
At Lake Grapevine, both Meadowmere ramps were closed, along with Lakeview South, Vineyards Campground and Farris Branch. The others are still open.
