Judge Judy Schier Hobbs, justice of the peace for Williamson County's Precinct 4, was inducted as a Scholar Member of the Texas Justice Court Judges Association's College of Justice Court Judges.
Hobbs's induction was announced Nov. 2. The TJCJA recognizes justices who seek education above the standards mandated by the state. Hobbs completed at least 60 education hours to earn the honor.
"My parents stressed education. When I have children in our court, I encourage them to seek education in every aspect of their lives. The best way for me to serve the people that I represent is to educate myself in every area that we practice. By taking advantage of every opportunity to learn from the experience and knowledge that others possess, I will be able to better serve my constituents, our county and staff," Hobbs said.
Hobbs was first sworn into office in 1982 after being appointed to fill an unexpired term. She is now serving her eighth elected term.
