Concordia University students and Four Points community members will soon have a single place to grab dinner and a movie. Galaxy Moviehouse & Eatery is set to open Nov. 9 at the Trails at 620, 8300 N. RR 620.
The 250,000-square foot, 1,500-seat development has 11 theaters, according to a Sept. 25 news release from project developer Edge Realty Partners. The theaters are divided into two wings, one for general admission and the other for premium dine-in, where moviegoers can order dinner while watching a movie, the release said.
In addition, one of the theaters will feature a "Digital Fusion Experience," a theater with a three-story screen and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.
General admission tickets start at $7.50, and the six general admission theaters have floor-to-ceiling projection screens with the latest digital audio and video technology, the release said.
The technologies allow for 3-D movies, live sports and music events to be shown.
Premium dine-in admission starts at $9.50. The theaters offer reserved seating, cushioned recliners and table service.
"We are so excited to open our doors to the Austin community," said Mark McLaughlin, Galaxy Moviehouse & Eatery general manager, in a statement. "Whether they visit us for drinks and a special date night or just a relaxing family afternoon, we want customers to come back because they appreciate getting a premium experience without the premium price tag."
While spicy thai shrimp, pizzas, pastas and other meal options will only be available in the theater, cocktails and other beverages will be available in the lobby, the release said.
