Attorney Scott Kidd announced today his plans to seek election to the Conroe I S D Board of Trustees. Kidd is running for Position 5, which is currently held by Lynda Sasser. Sasser will not seek re-election this year, said Lisa Meeks, Conroe ISD spokesperson.

" I have always believed the best way to lead is by example," Kidd said. "In these challenging times for public education, I want to help CISD continue to strive to be the best and become the example of excellence for school districts throughout Texas. All of our kids deserve our best effort to achieve this goal."

Kidd is an attorney for the law firm of Gauntt, Earl & Binney, L.L.P., grew up in Conroe and attended Conroe ISD schools. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received his J.D. from Baylor School of Law. Kidd lives in The Woodlands with his wife, Shannon and two children, Lorrin and Connor.

Postions 4, 5, 6 and 7 on the Conroe ISD Board of Trustees are up for election this year. This year's election is Nov. 6. The final day for candidates to submit their applications for the ballot is Aug. 20. Kidd is the only candidate to have filed for the Position 5 seat.
