On June 11, bids are due for the City of Lakeway's entrance monuments renovation project.
The city is taking sealed bids for labor, materials, machinery, tools, supplies and equipment for the landscape improvement project to renovate the entrance monuments at where Lohmans Crossing and Lakeway Boulevard each intersect with RR 620.
Bid documents are available at www.cityoflakeway.com.
On March 19, Lakeway City Council unanimously approved transferring and adding funds needed for $65,000 in landscape improvements to the two intersections. Parks and Recreation Director Andra Dearing said at the time that the landscape improvements are part of Lakeway's goal of having aesthetically pleasing gateways into the city.
The landscape improvements will significantly reduce the amount of water and maintenance costs the entrance monuments will require in future years, Dearing said.
