Deutschen Pfest, the 37th annual celebration of all things German and Pflugerville, kicks off Friday at Pfluger Park with musical acts Lisa Marshall and LC Rocks.

Gates open at 5 p.m., and attractions include carnival rides, vendors, food and drinks, and live music. Admission is $5 Friday and Saturday, and $7 Sunday.

Saturday features a children's parade at 10:45 a.m. on Main Street followed by the main parade. Visitors can enjoy a petting zoo, puppet shows and more food, drinks and vendors.

The pace picks up a bit on Sunday with a 5K Pfun Run and Kids 1K at 8 a.m.

Free parking and shuttles are available from Pflugerville High School and Brookhollow Elementary School.
