Hutto City Council directed the mayor and city attorney April 5 to draft a contract for the city manager position for David Mitchell, who is currently serving as interim city manager.
Mitchell has been with the city of Hutto since September 2009, when he was hired as assistant city manager. The City Council appointed him as interim city manager in January 2012 after Ed Broussard left the position.
"I'm excited to continue serving the citizens of Hutto," Mitchell said.
Mayor Debbie Holland said the city has received good feedback about Mitchell since he stepped into the interim position three months ago.
"We've all had really positive comments from citizens and people that deal with the city," she said. "They are quite happy with the progress that has been made the last 90 days, and we want to move forward with that."
Mitchell said the contract should be ready for approval by the next City Council meeting on April 19.
