For the third straight year Round Rock canceled its spring city elections for lack of any contested races.

No Round Rock City Council election has been contested since 2009 when Councilman John Moman defeated current Councilman Craig Morgan.

Of the 17 seats up for election since 2006 in Round Rock, only three spots have been contested.

Councilman Joe Clifford and Councilman John Moman were up for re-election this year. Both will serve another term.

City secretary Sara White said canceling the election saves the city more than $30,000.
