Although no wineries are located in Cy-Fair, several are located in Houston or within an hour's drive.

WINERIES

Bernhardt Winery — Owners Jerry and Jerri Bernhardt produce more than 10 types of red and white wines at their winery, which opened six years ago. The couple grows a portion of their grapes on-site, or buys them from growers in Texas, California and Arkansas. In addition to weddings, the Bernhardt's host concerts at the winery every Sunday from mid-April until November.

Circle S. Vineyards — Dave and Helen Stacy produce red, white, seasonal and signature blends of wine at their Sugar Land winery. The facility features several living rooms in which guests may listen to music or read a book while sampling wine.

Colony Cellars — Seven types of grapes are blended together to produce 12 flavors of crisp, smooth, rich and random harvest wine available at Colony Cellars. The winery, set on 50 acres, offers tastings, tours and a gift shop.

Haak Vineyards and Winery — Various festivals, events and concerts are hosted at the 3-acre winery, which Raymond Haak opened in 2000. The facility produces 15 types of wines, ranging from Temperanillo to Malbec, made from grapes grown on-site and throughout Texas.

La Fuente Winery — Rogelio De La Fuente grows and botteles the grapes used for his red and white wines in Chile. He opened the winery in 2006, and sells Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere.

Messina Hof Winery and Resort — Although owners Merrill and Paul Bonarrigo are known best for their port wine, made from grapes grown on-site, they produce 90 types of wine. The facility, which opened in 1977, features a restaurant, 11-room bed and breakfast, wine bar and retail center. The Bonarrigos also host winery tours, wine tastings, cooking parties, weddings, murder mystery dinners and corporate events.

Pleasant Hill Winery — More than 10 types of wine such as cabernet sauvignon and collina rossa are bottled at Pleasant Hill Winery, which opened nearly 15 years ago. Guests may sign up for the facility's wine club, in which he or she receives two bottles of wine quarterly, among other perks.

Water 2 Wine — Visitors to Water 2 Wine may taste, buy or create a custom bottle of wine at the company's Houston location. Various types of wine are produced at the facility, ranging from pomegranate-zinfandel to cranberry chianti. Guests may also rent the venue for anniversary, birthday, networking or corporate parties.

Windy Winery — Opened in 2005, Windy Winery produces nine still wines and four flavors of Champagne. The facility hosts weddings and tours, and guests may visit the winery's tasting bar, which is open four days a week.

Yepez Vineyards — Events ranging from a grape stomp festival to a summer concert series are hosted at Yepez Vineyards throughout the year. David and Lena Yepez opened the winery in 2005, which produces white and red wines.
