Accomplishments for 2011

  • Opening of the U.S. Foods distribution plant, which is the second-largest food distributor in the country
  • Completion of the first full year of the Buda Police Department
  • Tourism—Launching a new brand, opening the Stagecoach House and Visitors Center and earning a Scenic City designation from Scenic Texas
  • Updating the city's Comprehensive Plan

Issues for 2012

  • Manage growth—Annexation Plan
  • Water—Continue managing water resources during the drought and population growth
  • Start major parks projects—Bradfield Village Park and the Jackson T. Norris Memorial Skate Park
  • Community planning—Update Transportation Plan; the Parks Master Plan, amending the Unified Development Code; and create a Downtown Master Plan
  • Infrastructure—Continue to grow and improve infrastructure of water, sewer and streets

Outlook for 2012
