Serene Hills development approved

The final plan for the first phase of residential lots in the 456-acre Serene Hills development was unanimously approved by Lakeway City Council on Dec. 19.

The plan is for 68 residential and two utility lots to be built on approximately 32.2 acres located east of Serene Hills Drive and south of Flint Rock Road.

The vote came after city leaders debated the development's plan to have several shared driveways connect to Serene Hills Drive, a single-lane, divided road.

Doug Hunter, a principal of Hunter Interests, a developer of the project, said the plan addresses concerns by proposing driveways shared between two neighboring houses, big enough to accommodate additional parking and to allow cars to turn around and exit front-first.
