The South Austin Civic Club held its 2012 banquet Jan. 16 at St. Edward's University.

The club honored its business person of the year, Walter Moreau. Moreau is the director of Foundation Communities, a nonprofit that provides affordable housing and tax preparation services.

The event's keynote speaker was Harvey Kronberg, editor of The Quorum Report. He weighed in on Gov. Rick Perry's presidential campaign and the state of Texas redistricting.

The club thanked its 2011 board of directors and swore in its 2012 team.
