The Cedar Park city website redesign is on track for completion by spring, Cedar Park Media and Communications Manager Jennie Huerta told city council in a presentation on Jan. 12.

Council approved the redesign, which features more pictures, larger drop-down tabs and improved navigation for ease of use, Huerta said.

"Information will be organized in such a way that it will be no more than one or two clicks away," Huerta said. "Hopefully, barring any setbacks, we'll be able to do this launch in March at the same time as the city hall move."

Huerta said 132 website surveys were returned to the city, and many residents requested an easy-to-use site. She said the redesigned Cedar Park city website will have an accompanying mobile site and potentially a new URL.

"We really needed this for a long time," said council member Mitch Fuller. "It says a lot about who you are as a city and the image you want to project with your website."

City staff said the design is not final and more revisions will be made in the coming months.
