This article was updated at 5:17 p.m. on Feb. 9 to include the county's extension on offering the brush drop-off service.

Due to the recent winter weather event that swept through the state, Comal County has established a temporary, no-fee drop-off site for residents to dispose of tree branches and brush.

The weight of ice tested the strength of trees throughout the state, including in Comal County. Residents can drop off tree branches and brush to the Comal County Recycling Center at 281 Resource Drive in New Braunfels from Feb. 3 to Feb. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Recycling Center will be closed on Feb. 12.
