A Texas Department of Transportation project on I-35 at FM 725 is on schedule to be completed in June. The construction consists of making improvements to the intersection, including operational turn lanes. TxDOT is also working on walls on the north and south turnaround.

In June 2022, construction began on the $5.15 million project and that is utilizing state and federal funding. Construction on I-35 from FM 306 to the Hays-Comal county line is anticipated to be completed in early 2023, according to TxDOT. The project consists of ramp revisions, intersection operational improvements and the conversion of the frontage roads on Kohlenberg Road and Watson Lane to be one way in New Braunfels along the new I-35 bridge over Kohlenberg Road.

The cost of that project will be $63.8 million, also from state and federal sources. Construction began in March 2020 and is on schedule, according to TxDOT.

The completion of these projects is anticipated to provide better transportation mobility to drivers.
