Motorists traveling through downtown New Braunfels should expect part of East Zink Street to be closed through July 2.

The road is closed between Landa Street and Seguin Avenue. Traffic will be detoured from Market Street to Bridge Street to Seguin Avenue. The map below shows the short stretch.

The closure accommodates work New Braunfels Utilities is doing on the Castell Avenue 24-inch water line project, which will upgrade existing water and sewer infrastructure, as well as move water from downtown New Braunfels to the county line water tank.

Spiess Construction Co. Ltd. will be in charge of the work and will be boring beneath Landa Street.

The water line project is expected to be completed on time in December 2022, weather permitting.
