The city of New Braunfels is planning a road construction project at the intersection of Alves Lane and Hwy. 46.

The southbound lanes of Alves approaching West Hwy. 46 in New Braunfels will experience a temporary detour Nov. 22-27, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., according to a city news release.

The project is necessary to complete drainage and roadway improvements and is related to the 2013 Citywide Streets Improvement Bond Program.

As a result of the project, southbound traffic on Alves will be detoured before Hwy. 46 at Floating Star, the release said.

Drivers will use Floating Star to access Oelkers Drive and Hwy. 46. Northbound access to Alves from West Hwy. 46 will remain open to traffic, the release said.
